MACC's Social Enterprise Network Awarded $100,000 in Grants
to Member Social Entrepreneurs

In 2018 MACC awarded four grants, in the amount of $25,000 each, to MACC members to support the launch of new social enterprises. All four organizations were part of MACC's Social Enterprise Network - a powerful, grant-funded, member created, collaborative platform for sharing resources, expertise, and learning.

Our courageously collaborative approach means members have a voice and help drive where we invest our time together. This shows up in the way members worked together to co-create the Social Enterprise Network itself, but also in the way the platform operates. Each of this year's four grantees were selected by a member committee made up of successful social entrepreneurs.

Of course, the support from MACC's Social Enterprise Network is just one piece of the puzzle. The successful launch of these member enterprises required incredible ingenuity, and hard work by the teams who launched them!

So what did our social enterprise grantees get up to?

Neighborhood House launched "Beaningful" a coffee shop and café serving up delicious drinks and eats, while providing critical job training opportunities. LDA Minnesota launched a new Licensure Program for special education teachers. Hope 4 Youth opened Hope’s Closet, a new, upscale, resale boutique that creates workforce training opportunities for the youth they serve. And FamilyWise is developing a new, innovative Supervised Parenting enterprise providing parents a facilitated, secure, structured space for families to rebuild and strengthen relationships.

It's amazing to watch these enterprises thrive!
