52.9 Billion Dollars Spent by Minnesotans
on Health Care in 2018

52.9 billion is a MASSIVE, mind boggling kind of number. Health care spending represents a huge part of Minnesota’s economy.

This year, MACC was one of three nonprofit networks nationwide, selected to participate in the
Nonprofit Finance Fund's (NFF) Advancing Resiliency & Community health or ARCH initiative. Health starts in community and community based organizations like MACC members are critical resources in helping build healthy, resilient communities – but the value we bring is often not fully recognized.

The ARCH initiative, funded by the
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is designed to support networks like ours in building relationships between networks of community based organizations and healthcare institutions.

Our network is energized by the potential to engage with health care systems as partners, collaboratively working to build strong, healthy communities. NFF believes that networks can tip the scales and create the negotiating power necessary to engage with often much larger health care systems.

MACC's participation in ARCH connects our network to critical consulting resources. It will provide support for developing new contracts, payment models, and partnership approaches as our network continues to explore new relationships with health care organizations like
Allina Health and Children's Minnesota through our health care partnerships initiative.

We're excited to be building the groundwork for big potential.
